How to Add Liquidity to a SUI Token on Cetus
Choose the base and quote tokens, set the opening price and both amounts, then create the Cetus pool. You can add to an existing pool instead. Creating, adding and removing liquidity currently cost 1, 3 and 2 SUI plus network gas.
Get the price direction right
The opening price is the number of quote tokens one base token should buy. If you reverse the base and quote tokens, the price direction reverses too. That mistake is usually more expensive than the service fee.
Open the pool with a small test position first, then check the displayed price, route and swap result before adding the rest of your capital.
Creating, adding and removing are separate actions
Creating a pool is for a pair that does not exist yet and costs 1 SUI. Adding liquidity to an existing pool costs 3 SUI. Removing a position costs 2 SUI per position.
All three actions also need network gas. Budget for the platform fee and gas separately; the fee shown on the page is not the total network cost.
APR is not the whole return
Fee income is only useful when you compare it with price movement and impermanent loss. High trading volume over a short window may not continue.
A narrow price range puts more capital to work but stops earning fees sooner if the price moves outside it. Set the range around a market view you can defend, not the highest number on the screen.
